HOORAY! it's thrusday which means tomorrow is friday which means a long weekend of fun fun fun! i have lots to celebrate so i will be making this cake! i'll let you know how it turns out!

even though mr.O just got a new dog bed, i'm thinking he really wants one of these from louisiana based see scout sleep. on top of being über cute - these screen-printed beds are made from sustainably grown fibers that are naturally died. cute and earth friendly! now if only they weren't so tough on the wallet...

last night i attended an event at benefit cosmetics with a dear friend. there were cocktails, sparkling wine, and sweet treats galore. oh, and we got an eyebrow wax, makeover, and $40 worth of free products of our choice! it can be oh so good to embrace your girlie side every now and then!

we're doing a lot of redecorating around the apartment these days (pictures soon!) - which means lots and lots of trips to antique shops and some not so thrifty places... like West Elm. these are just a few of the items that have made their way into our place these last couple days :)

we joined a CSA this year and our first share was delivered on wednesday. what a bounty! we are doing a 20 week vegetable share and a 10 week fruit share with angelic organics. we recieved lots of leafy greens, root crops and fruit crops this round and i am so pleased with the quality and variety. now to eat it all... good thing i have lots of hungry friends stopping by this weekend!

last weekend while exploring a part of the city we rarely venture to - we stumbled across this very mini, very cute cupcake bar - more. lucky for us it was also happy hour time - so we got to sample a variety of free "alcoholic" cupcakes. we tried the piña colada (whoa tequila), white russian and salted carmel. yummmmmmy! sadly i only had my iPhone on hand to document the tasting - so please excuse the poor quality - the cupcakes looked much more appetizing in person!

oh and yes, the cupcakes are so good that the best (and only) way to eat them is in one bite - as jb is demonstrating in that last photo!

...ibiza

what can i say, this beautiful spanish island in the mediterranean sea was a pleasant surprise. what we thought was going to be a hedonistic party destination turned out to be the most perfect place for recharging and reflecting. we spent our days sipping wine, eating olives, sunbathing and exploring - we even discovered an old 17th century fort that provided us with the most spectacular views of the entire island!
